MuleForge User Roles


The following table gives a description of all user roles in MuleForge. Unregistered users may register for a MuleForge account here.


Access Level
Description Activities
Unregistered User A Mule user who has not yet registered in MuleForge.
  • Browse project listings.
  • Access project source code, binary distributions, issue trackers, and documentation.
  • Access MuleForge news through RSS feeds.
  • Propose new projects and comment on project proposals.
  • View project forums.
Registered User A Mule user who has registered in MuleForge. A user typically registers to in order to request "Project Developer" or "Project Despot" privileges.
  • Maintain a profile and preferences in MuleForge.
Project Developer
A registered user who has requested and been approved to become a Project Developer of a MuleForge project. Read the users' guide for details on how to become a Project Member.
  • Commit code to the project's svn repository.
  • Edit the project's homepage.
  • Access the project WebDav site for uploading distributions and libraries.
  • Subscribe to mailing lists for various projects.
  • Post a message to various project forums.
Project Despot
The Technical Lead or Owner of a project.
  • Approve new Project Developers for the project.
  • Administer the project's JIRA system (components, versions, roadmap)
  • Has ultimate say in how the project is run.
Uber Despot A MuleForge team member who has ultimate administrative privileges.
  • Approve new projects.
  • Sets up new projects.
  • Establishes standards and guidelines.
  • Arbitrates disputes.
